Educate and Entertain
Whenever the albums "By All Means Necessary","Ghetto
Music:The Blueprint of Hiphop","Edutainment","Sex and
Violence",and "Return Of The Boombap" are played in my
household, the volume is increased purposely in my
household to offset the commercially insane, ignorant
and destructive lyrics leading to the destruction ofthe mindset. Are the radio programmers of so called rap music
frightened by intelligence as if the mainstream is to be
kept misinformed and kept deaf, dumb and blind to reinforce
ignorance. It's obvious to me that brainwashing is the tool
used to keep our peoples in a self destruction frame of
mind. It's time to support all conscious artists against
the status quo and "Turn Off The Radio".Clear Channel
Communications and Ennis Communications will hear our
voices loudly when this occurs.

PEACE!!

KRS Quote
KRS: That's because they want to play in an arena they're not supposed to be in. I've enjoyed much success. The IRS is always at my door, constantly. I just filed for an extension, by the way. It's not that you don't make any money doing conscious rap music. You make a lot of money doing this, but if you're greedy and you're not satisfied with $500,000 a year, and you want $2 million a year, then you will suffer as a conscious rap artist. But if you're true to the upliftment of people and the unity of people, raising the self-worth of people, then you live within your means. But the problem is that we're looking at the grass on the other side, saying, "That's greener. I want to be in the thug market, but I want to be a conscious rap artist." It doesn't work like that. You can't expect to be on MTV and critique George Bush. You can't expect to be on BET or the cover of The Source advocating Jesus Christ or Buddha or Hindu Krishna or Moses. As a conscious rap artist, you have to play in the arena that you're supposed to be in. What is that arena? That arena is the college market. The conscious rap artist woos the college market, even though the college market is the wildest, most sexed-out, drug-driven market in the country, possibly the world. The conscious rap artist still has a high place amongst the university system. Obviously, you must know of my university lectures, my years of doing that. I'm not saying something that I've read, I'm telling you something that I've lived as a conscious rap artist: It's the university system that you really want to be at. On top of that, in terms of getting your record played, it's the mix-show level where you really want to be. You want to woo the mix-show crowd. You don't care whether your record is played on the radio in daytime rotation or not. If you're a conscious rap artist and you're worried about Billboard charts, you're gonna have a problem. So, yeah, it's hard to push a conscious rap artist in a gangster market. Then again, as a conscious rap artist, you should not want to be in a gangster market. You should be trying to establish your own market, create a place where you can be yourself and make some money and feed your family.

Edutainment....
I really liked Edutainment from 90 or 91. I like the way it starts off especially.

THE BEST KRS-ONE ALBUMS
For those who want to hear the best of KRS-ONE, they should listen to the Sex and Violence LP (1992). KRS-One literally snapped on sucka emcees and touched on issues concerning urban drug dealers and different theological topics. This album is politically powerful. Another album is Return of the Boom Bap (1993)This album features production by Showbiz and DJ Premiere way before other artist were sweatin his ass for tracks. Premiere and KRS-One were the ultimate duo, and the only one at that time to rap on a premiere track for the length of nearly an entire album besides Guru.

The Conscious Rapper
So you wanna be a conscious rapper
Can you handle the press and they negative chatter
Can you eat cold platters, and still spit data
Watchin others spit lies and they pockets get fatter
Can you climb up the ladder, and reach the top?
But it still doesn't matter, cause you ain't pop
Can you rock for the love of the art
Can you drop hit after hit after hit and still don't chart?
Can you REALLY stay loyal to God
when your life is full of strife, plus it always seems so hard
Can you handle the criticism
People holdin you up to higher standards, but they don't live 'em?
Can you hear these kiddy flows and laugh at it
But when you spit they callin you arrogant?
You better think about that before you rock to this
Sometimes it's easier to pop your Cris', let's do it!

Think you can do what I do
Think you can step in my shoes
You have no clue what I go through
You never felt my pain
When they attack my name
All because I have spoken the truth

To be a conscious rapper ain't a mystery
You gotta laugh when they call you contradictory
The whole industry, you gotta push and pull it
To really get with me, you gotta dodge they bullets
Blaow, blaow, blaow, every day and every way
You critics got somethin to say
At the same time, you gotta uphold Christ
Uphold life, while others flash cars and ice
It could break you down, take you down, make you frown
It could actually shake your ground
But if you love who you are, and believe in that
Best believe you will BE where the teacher's at
And where's that? In fact, in cold or heat
Yes, I declare victory over the streets
Overstand, over these beats, over the so-called elite
Over the strong, over the weak
I know how to speak, and most of all I know how to eat
I know I want humble and meek
So you better think about that before you rock to this
Sometimes it's easier to pop your Cris', uhh

Think you can do what I do
Think you can step in my shoes
You have no clue what I go through
You never felt my pain
When they attack my name
All because I have spoken the truth

Look!
So you thinkin about bein a concious MC
Well you gotta love God and you got to live free
You got to see the life that others can't see
You got to be the person that others can't be
You can't be a S-L-A, V-E
If you sayin to yourself, "This may be me"
Then you know goin in that you work against sin
Your very skills will kill the demons within
So don't expect respect from slaves and hoes
Nor the slavemaster's video shows
Nor the rap mags, you know how it go
Especially black mags, you know they don't know
Just go to the crowd that you know will need you
Cause NOTHING compares to the respect of the people
That's what you look for, that's what you work with
Cause anything else, is truly worthless
You better think about that before you rock to this
Sometimes it's easier to just pop your Cris'
You better think about that, 'fore you rock to this
Sometimes it's easier to just pop your Cris', uhh

KRS1 Track Heard on the Radio
Yep, no doubt KRS1 is one of the greatest ever Emcees to grace the MIC. Him and Rakim are amongst the top in the Rap Game who still have lyrical skills, the lyrical flow and knowledge to burn todays younger cats. People like KRS1 and RAKIM from my belief would burn JayZ as easy as paper in a stage battle. Some people claim that Biggie and Tupac were the greatest - but in my honest oppinion you can't have two heavy weight fights and be called the G.O.A.T. !!!!! You have to analyse the whole game and dig in the crates to back when it all began. There are so many skillful people out there to crown any one man with that title anyway. Kane can still rhyme and so can Kool G Rap.

Not losing track of why I am posting this message in the first place - I recently heard this song by KRS1 - In the song he reapeatedly recites the lyrics "Your'e Not Hot" or something like that. That song blew me away man! Does anybody know the name of this track or any other recent details on KRS1?

What's next?
KRS ONE. You truly are gifted. A very intelligent black man. I was curious if you were going to run in an election or form an organization so people who follow you (like myself), can be active in the cause for our people's awakening?
